The convenience of 2 separate halves provides an adjustable distance play-back position with more compact storage dimensions than traditional 1-piece tables. Metal latches provide safety when in play-back position and when moving for storage. It ships in a single package with almost all of the assembly complete. Only the wheels need to be attached.
